Overview
Internetwork Expert's CCIE Routing & Switching Dynamips Lab Workbook consists of all 20 labs from our CCIE Routing & Switching Lab Workbook Volume II which have been reconfigured to run on the open-source Dynamips IOS emulation platform. This product is available exclusively in electronic format, and is broken down into two parts. Part 1 consists of labs 1-10 from volume II, and part 2 consists of labs 11-20 from volume II. This product is targeted for CCIE R&S candidates that prefer to use Dynamips for lab practice as opposed to real live hardware. As the content is identical, candidates using real hardware in their own practice labs or via rack rentals should use the standard version as opposed to this product.

Content
When it comes to passing the CCIE Routing & Switching Lab Exam, there is no magic bullet - hard work and a core understanding of the technologies is an absolute must. You don't want to take the easy road when it comes to preparation, you will be better off to make sure you are as equipped and prepared as possible. With that being said, the "hardest" materials aren't necessarily the best option either; you want clarity and depth, not complexity. With years of experience teaching CCIE preparation programs, and having assisted literally hundreds of engineers in passing the CCIE Lab Exam, Brian Dennis and Brian McGahan have composed the single most complete and consolidated resource available to assist you in your path to passing the CCIE Routing & Switching Lab Exam, Internetwork Expert's CCIE Routing & Switching Lab Workbook Volume II.
Designed from the ground up based on Cisco's newest publicly stated specification for the CCIE Routing & Switching Lab Exam, this workbook is unmatched in its design to familiarize you with the conditions that you will face in the actual CCIE Lab Exam. This includes the hardware devices used, Cisco IOS versions, scope and length of technical content, and point scale.
Full Scale Lab Content Length & Depth
Like the actual CCIE Routing & Switching Lab Exam, each of the full scale lab scenarios contained were designed to be configured within an 8 hour time frame, and are on average 15 - 17 pages in length. The labs are not 5 or 6 page mini-labs like many that you will see in other workbook products on the market. In addition to this, each full scale lab scenario covers a wide range of topics similar to the actual CCIE Lab Exam, and is divided into 12 general sections.
These sections are:
1. Troubleshooting
2. Bridging and Switching
3. WAN
4. Interior Gateway Routing
5. Exterior Gateway Routing
6. IP Multicast
7. IPv6
8. QoS
9. Security
10. System Management
11. IP Services
Note: As with all of our products this workbook does not include any of these legacy technologies, as they are no longer tested on in the actual CCIE Routing & Switching Lab exam. Don't be fooled by the amount of content included in other products on the market, as many of these workbooks hold an excessive amount of dead weight from obsolete technologies.
Full Scale Lab Point Scale
Like the actual CCIE lab exam, each full scale lab scenario contained consists of various sections totaling 100 points. Each task within the lab is assigned a specific point value. Points are only awarded if the presented solution meets all the given requirements, and does not violate any preset restrictions. No partial credit is awarded for any task. A minimum score of 80 points is required to 'pass' a particular scenario. This design allows the labs to be used as mock lab exams, simulating the conditions of the actual CCIE Routing & Switching Lab Exam.
Workbook Solutions Guide
In addition to the actual workbook, a detailed solutions guide is included free of charge in electronic and printed format with all workbook purchases. We do not charge for our detailed solutions, but you may have seen that some of our competitors charge for theirs. Our solutions guide includes final configurations, detailed explanations, recommended verifications, troubleshooting steps, and links to additional resources for further reading. The 1300+ page solutions guide included is the single most comprehensive document that can be found on the market today, and is as much of an integral part of the CCIE Routing & Switching Lab Workbook Volume II as the workbook itself.
Final Configurations
The final configurations in the solutions guide are broken down on a task-by-task basis. This allows you to know exactly which command or commands correspond to which task. There is no need to sort through a long configuration file to guess which commands correspond to which question.
Detailed Breakdowns
In addition to configurations, the solutions guide includes a detailed explanation of all of the technologies covered. These explanations include insight into the theoretical principles of a technology, its practical application, and common pitfalls associated with said technology. Output from relevant show commands is also included so you can see firsthand how the technology performs.
Recommended Readings
With the solutions guide, your learning doesn't just stop with the presented scenario. Hundreds of links to relevant outside resources are included in the solutions guide, such as Internetwork Expert White Papers, RFCs, Cisco Documentation, and other key resources on the web.
